About Kevin P.

Kevin P. Muck built his legal foundation at two California schools. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University in 1982 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1985. Those years set the stage for a long career in courtroom work and appellate practice.

He is admitted to practice in California and is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials reflect a practice that reaches from state trial courts to the highest federal forum. He has been associated with Fenwick & West LLP, where he has worked alongside colleagues handling complex litigation.

Muck’s courtroom work has included representation in both trial and appellate settings. He appears for clients in state and federal matters, and he is prepared to present cases in appellate proceedings up to the U.S. Supreme Court. His approach is pragmatic. He breaks issues into discrete questions and presents them to judges and juries in plain language.

Throughout his career he has had to balance the demands of litigation strategy, client communication, and procedural rules. That balance shapes how he prepares a case from the first pleading through post-judgment motions. He pays attention to deadlines and record development, knowing that appellate outcomes often turn on the written record and on precise legal argument.

Peers and clients see him as methodical in court and steady at argument. He favors clarity over rhetoric. He writes briefs in a straightforward manner and emphasizes legal analysis tied to the record. He also spends time preparing witnesses and co-counsel for hearings, focusing on the practical aspects of presenting evidence and testimony.

Outside written advocacy, Muck has handled oral argument at multiple levels of the judiciary. He has worked on matters that required familiarity with both procedural devices and substantive law, and he adapts to the procedural posture of each case. He maintains ties to the California legal community and to practitioners who litigate federal issues.

He currently practices at Fenwick & West LLP, handling matters in California and in proceedings before the U.S. Supreme Court.
