About Patrick

Patrick Delahunty built an academic foundation before turning to the law. He earned a B.A. from the University of Redlands in 1999, followed by an M.A. from the University of Virginia in 2002. He completed his legal education at the University of Washington School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 2006.

After law school, Delahunty established his practice in California. Over the years he has handled matters in the state’s courts and developed experience across a range of legal tasks that typically arise for litigators and advisers. He combines training from both humanities and legal study to approach problems with attention to detail and an eye for how legal outcomes affect clients’ broader objectives.

Colleagues describe him as deliberate and practical in the way he outlines options and prepares for hearings. He has worked on cases that required close factual analysis and careful drafting. He spends time preparing records, deposing witnesses, and setting strategy for trial and settlement. He has also briefed dispositive motions and taken part in courtroom proceedings.

Outside the courtroom, Delahunty’s background includes academic research completed during his M.A. studies, and that experience informs how he frames legal questions. He has been active in professional circles and maintains current memberships in bar-related organizations. He is attentive to procedural developments in California law and integrates changes in statute and case law into client strategies.

Delahunty practices at Delahunty & Edelman LLP, where he applies his legal and academic training to the practical needs of clients. He emphasizes clear communication, timely preparation, and pragmatic problem-solving. He currently focuses his practice on matters arising under California law at Delahunty & Edelman LLP.
