About Kevin J.

Kevin J. Tagliaferri trained first as an educator and then turned to law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Human Services from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1980. Two decades later he completed his Juris Doctor at Massachusetts School of Law in 1997. Those academic stops shaped a practical approach to legal work that relies on steady preparation and attention to detail.

He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Early in his legal career he became involved in bar advocacy and pro bono work. That commitment to accessible services led him to join a range of local and regional legal organizations, many of which he still serves today.

Tagliaferri’s volunteer roles run across both court-related advocacy groups and nonprofit legal panels. He has been on the MetroWest Legal Services pro bono panel in Framingham since 2012 and has served the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association since 2008. He also holds membership in the Greater Milford Bar Association and the Norfolk County Bar Association. From 2003 until 2015 he was active with the Essex County Bar Advocates, and since 2015 he has been affiliated with both Norfolk County Bar Advocates and Suffolk Lawyers for Justice as a bar advocate.

Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in his courtroom work. He approaches cases in a methodical way and often takes on matters that require careful procedural handling. His pattern of long-term involvement in bar advocate programs suggests an interest in casework that intersects with indigent defense and access-to-justice issues, though his public listings emphasize his broader participation in county bar activities and pro bono panels.

His office listing appears as "Lawyer at Law." He has maintained a presence in local bar circles for many years, balancing paid practice with pro bono commitments. That mix of private practice and volunteer service has given him a range of courtroom and client-facing experience.

He currently practices law in Massachusetts and appears before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
