About Keri E
Keri E Angus earned her law degree from The University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2008 after completing her undergraduate studies at Emerson College in 2004. She entered the legal profession at a time when courts and clients were adapting to new technologies and shifting procedural norms. Her education combined a liberal arts background with formal legal training, and that mix shows in the way she approaches cases: attentive to detail and mindful of context.
Early in her career she gained experience in Massachusetts courts and soon expanded to matters that reached the federal level. Admission in Massachusetts and practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit position her to handle both state and appellate federal matters. Over the years she has navigated filings, oral arguments and the written advocacy that appellate work requires. Those experiences have shaped a practice that pays close attention to briefing and procedural strategy.
Her work history includes time spent in private practice where she represented clients across a variety of civil matters. She has handled trials, contested hearings and appeals. She also has experience preparing dispositive motions and appellate briefs. Colleagues describe her work as methodical. Clients see an attorney who prepares thoroughly and responds promptly.
Angus participates in professional associations and maintains active membership in relevant local and national groups. She uses those networks for professional development and to stay current on evolving case law. That engagement also informs how she advises clients and prepares cases for court.
Her written work — including briefs and memoranda — reflects an emphasis on clarity. She prefers plain language in arguments and organizes complex legal issues into more manageable components. That approach is evident in how she frames issues for judges and opposing counsel. When oral advocacy is needed she aims for a crisp presentation and reserves detailed exposition for filings.
Today she practices at Calabrese Law Associates. Her practice spans matters in Massachusetts and matters that may proceed before the First Circuit, and she manages cases that move from trial courts to appellate review. She continues to represent clients in both state and federal venues, focusing on effective case management and court-level advocacy.
