About Kenton Voges
Kenton Voges Sands is an attorney specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability law. He currently serves as a full-time neutral with Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group, where he utilizes his extensive legal background to facilitate dispute resolution. A Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator, Mr. Sands is dedicated to helping parties reach equitable solutions in their legal matters. His transition to mediation in 2023 marked a significant shift in his career — This lets the attorney focus on conflict resolution rather than litigation. Mr. Sands earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1985, a prestigious institution known for its rigorous legal education. Following this achievement, he pursued further specialization by obtaining a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1989.
His academic journey began at the University of Chicago, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1982. This strong educational foundation laid the groundwork for his successful legal career. In 1987, Mr. Sands was admitted to the New York State Bar, starting his professional journey. He started as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, where he gained inexperience in handling complex legal cases. Later, he co-founded Sands, White & Sands, P.A., a firm dedicated to representing clients in personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability cases. His work at the firm allowed him to develop a understanding of the intricacies involved in these areas of law.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sands has managed a variety of complex cases, including personal injury, wrongful death, tax and bank fraud, internet-related offenses, and mail and wire fraud. His expertise in these areas has earned him an AV Preeminent® Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, which is recognized as the highest rating attainable for legal ability and ethical standards. This accolade supports his excellence and integrity in the legal profession. As a member of the Florida Bar Association and the New York Bar Association (inactive), Mr. Sands has been admitted to practice before multiple courts. These include the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits, as well as the U.S.
District Courts for the Middle, Southern, and Northern Districts of Florida. Additionally, he is admitted to the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. In his current role, Mr. Sands aims to leverage his extensive litigation experience to help parties resolve disputes efficiently, mediating Circuit Court cases throughout Florida and federal cases within the Middle District.
