About Kenesha A

Kenesha A Raeford earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2019. She arrived at law school after completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Services at Queens University of Charlotte in 2015. Her academic path combined study of public service and legal training, and it set the stage for early courtroom and chambers experience.

After graduating, Raeford entered the Maryland legal community. In 2020 she served as a judicial law clerk at the Supreme Court of Maryland. In that role she handled legal research and assisted in drafting memoranda and opinions for the court. The clerkship placed her close to appellate decision-making and gave her experience parsing complex records and statutes under tight deadlines.

In 2021 she joined Niles Barton & Wilmer LLP as an associate lawyer. At the firm she worked on matters that required careful written advocacy and courtroom preparation. Colleagues from that period describe her as methodical in research and concise in drafting. Her time at the firm added practical litigation experience to the appellate perspective she gained on the bench.

Raeford is admitted to practice in Maryland and in the District of Columbia. Those admissions allow her to represent clients across state and federal matters that touch both jurisdictions. Her professional background blends courtroom exposure, appellate work, and firm-side litigation practice. She is known among peers for attention to detail in briefs and for steady work on procedural and evidentiary issues.

She now operates the Kenesha A Raeford Law Offices. There she manages client matters and handles case work arising in Maryland and the District of Columbia. The office draws on her clerkship experience and her time as an associate to guide litigation strategy and legal drafting. Her current practice handles matters in those jurisdictions and represents clients before trial and appellate tribunals when appropriate.
