About Lindsay A

Lindsay A Freedman built a legal path that moves from public service to private practice. She earned a B.A. from Indiana University–Bloomington and went on to receive her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. Those academic years set the stage for a practice that spans state and federal courts.

Her early post-law school work placed her inside Maryland Legal Aid, where she served as a staff lawyer beginning in 2015. That role involved representing individuals who could not otherwise afford counsel and exposed her to a steady stream of workplace and family-law related issues. The experience in a legal aid setting shaped how she approaches casework and client intake — practical and detail oriented.

In 2020 she worked as a senior associate at Thatcher Law Office. That same year she took on the role of managing partner at Freedman Law, LLC. Her career thus moved quickly from staff attorney to firm leadership. The timeline reflects both courtroom experience and responsibility for running a small practice.

She is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She also is admitted to practice in federal district courts in Maryland and in Virginia. Those credentials allow her to handle litigation in both state and federal forums and to bring appeals within the Fourth Circuit when cases warrant further review.

Professional groups have been part of her working life. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association’s Maryland chapter and belongs to several employment-law organizations, including the Virginia Employment Lawyers Association, the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association, and the Maryland Employment Lawyers Association. These memberships keep her connected to developments in employment law and to peers who handle similar disputes.

Her background combines poverty-law practice, associate-level litigation, and firm management. She has courtroom experience and handles client matters that require federal filings. Her work is practical: preparing pleadings, taking depositions, and arguing motions in both state and federal venues.

She currently leads Freedman Law, LLC and handles employment law matters and related federal-court work on behalf of individuals and small organizations.
