About Kelsey
Kelsey Shannon trained at two of the country's most recognizable schools. She earned a B.A. from Georgetown University in 2004 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2007. Those years set the stage for a steady rise through both private practice and government service.
She began her legal career in 2007 as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. The work at Cleary placed her in a large-firm environment during her early years as a practicing lawyer. In 2012 she moved to Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, where she continued to work on complex matters and deepen her litigation skills.
In 2014 Shannon joined the U.S. Department of Justice as a trial lawyer. At the Department she handled federal litigation and courtroom matters, taking cases through pretrial stages and into trial when necessary. That period of government service added trial experience and a familiarity with federal court practice.
She left the Justice Department in 2017 and became a partner at Lynn Law Office. At Lynn Law Office she has taken on leadership responsibilities and worked on a wide range of disputes. Her practice draws on bench and bar experience accumulated in both the public and private sectors.
Shannon holds admission to practice in New York and in the District of Columbia. She also maintains membership in professional associations and participates in the bar community. Colleagues describe her as steady in court and precise in motion practice; clients have turned to her for matters that require courtroom experience and hands-on litigation management.
Her career reflects a throughline from major law firms to federal trial work to a partnership role at a regional firm. She balances case preparation in the office with courtroom time, and she draws on past government service when advising clients about federal process. She is now based at Lynn Law Office, where her practice centers on civil litigation and federal trial work.
