About Nicholas

Nicholas Passalacqua took a direct route into law after completing undergraduate studies in finance and sport management. He earned a B.S. from Sacred Heart University in 2003, then enrolled at Michigan State University College of Law. He finished his J.D. in 2010 and completed certificates in Criminal Law and Trial Advocacy at Michigan State, training that shaped his approach to courtroom work.

He began his legal career as an associate at Getnick, Livingston, Atkinson & Priore, LLP in 2010. That post gave him early exposure to litigation and criminal matters, and it set the stage for work that has remained centered on contested hearings and jury trials. He is licensed to practice in New York and has built a practice that relies on courtroom experience rather than transactional work.

Passalacqua’s memberships reflect his professional interests. He belongs to the National College of DUI Defense and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the New York Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Oneida County Bar Association. Those affiliations place him in networks that emphasize trial skills and criminal defense strategies.

His training in trial advocacy is a recurrent theme in his biography. The certificates he earned at Michigan State University College of Law focused on trial technique and criminal law principles, and he has continued to apply that training throughout his career. In practice he handles pretrial motions, evidentiary hearings, plea negotiations and contested trials. His work often involves careful preparation for cross-examination and jury selection.

Passalacqua has organized his practice around a small firm setting. He practices under the name Passalacqua & Associates, LLC. The firm handles criminal defense matters across different stages of the process, from initial arraignment through trial and post-conviction proceedings. He combines courtroom work with client counseling during the often-short windows when critical decisions must be made.

Clients and colleagues describe him as methodical and direct in court. He tends to prioritize case strategy and case preparation over rhetoric. That approach has guided his caseload and the development of his firm. He continues to participate in professional groups focused on DUI defense and criminal trial work.

He currently practices at Passalacqua & Associates, LLC and focuses his practice on criminal defense, including DUI and trial litigation.
