About Kelli Hanley
Kelli Hanley Crabb earned both her Juris Doctor and her Master of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota in 1981. She completed a dual course of study at a single institution in the same year, a path that combined legal training with business principles. That background shaped the way she approaches cases and client counseling.
She is admitted to practice in South Dakota and in Florida. Her career has included steady involvement in local bar activities and professional organizations. In St. Petersburg she has served as a member and as Co-Chair of the family law section of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, a role that put her in regular contact with other lawyers handling divorce, custody and support matters. She is also a participant in the Kanakaris Inns of Court, where practitioners meet to discuss courtroom technique, ethics and practical skills.
Beyond bar work, she has volunteered with the Community Law Program. That involvement has kept her connected to pro bono and low‑cost legal services in the community. Colleagues describe her as someone who takes those volunteer commitments seriously and who treats them as part of professional responsibility rather than an afterthought.
Her practice reflects those professional activities. She has handled family law matters and related disputes. She has experience guiding clients through contested hearings and negotiated settlements. Her training in business has informed how she approaches financial issues in family cases, including the division of assets and the analysis of business interests.
Crabb’s courtroom work and her bar leadership have run in parallel. Serving as Co‑Chair of a bar section requires balancing administrative tasks and member outreach. It has also meant organizing programs that keep other lawyers current on changing statutes, case law and procedural developments. Her membership in the Inns of Court has provided a forum for mentoring younger lawyers and for sustained professional conversation among peers.
She maintains a practice as a lawyer, working in the jurisdictions where she is licensed. Her current work concentrates on family law matters and on representing clients in related civil proceedings.
