About Katie
Katie Halloran studied music and Spanish as an undergraduate before turning to the law. She earned a B.A. in Music and Spanish from Centre College, then continued her legal training at the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, where she received her J.D. The combination of arts and languages informs the way she listens and communicates in the courtroom and with clients.
After law school Halloran joined Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC as a lawyer. She practices in Kentucky and is active in the local legal community. Her day-to-day work involves research, drafting pleadings, and preparing for hearings and trials. Colleagues describe her as methodical; she pays attention to detail and prepares thoroughly for court appearances.
Halloran maintains memberships in the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association, and the American Association for Justice. Those associations keep her connected to developments in state law and trial practice. She attends continuing-education programs and participates in association events that address procedural and substantive issues affecting Kentucky courts.
Her academic background gives her a somewhat different path into law. Training in music emphasized discipline and timing. Study of Spanish sharpened her ear for language and nuance. She applies those habits to case strategy and client conversations, aiming for clarity in legal writing and testimony preparation.
On the professional side, Halloran’s responsibilities at Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC include client intake, case management, and courtroom work. She works with clients to identify factual issues, assess legal options, and outline next steps. The firm environment requires coordination across lawyers and staff. She contributes to that teamwork while managing her own caseload.
Outside casework, Halloran follows changes in Kentucky law and procedural rules closely. She engages with peers through the bar and justice associations to exchange perspectives and updates. Her current practice focuses on litigation and client representation in Kentucky state courts.
