About Katie
Katie Burke holds a Master of Arts from Arizona State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Those two degrees anchor a career spent in and around the San Francisco legal community. Her academic path combined broader graduate study with professional legal training, equipping her to handle complex family law matters that touch on both legal and personal concerns.
After law school, Burke built a practice tied to family law in San Francisco. She is a current member of the Bar Association of San Francisco Family Law Section and of Queen’s Bench San Francisco. Those memberships place her among peers who specialize in divorce, custody and support matters. They also provide a forum for exchange on evolving case law and courtroom practice in the Bay Area.
Her day-to-day work often involves advising clients on separation and divorce, parenting plans, child and spousal support, and related procedural issues. She represents people at different stages of family disputes, from initial negotiations through contested hearings. Burke is known in the courtroom and the conference room for a methodical approach. She emphasizes careful preparation and clear communication when she meets clients for the first time.
Colleagues describe her as steady under pressure. She tends to break large problems into manageable steps. That approach is practical in family law, where clients face both legal questions and emotional strain. Burke draws on her graduate training when cases involve complex financial or psychological elements. She uses available experts when a matter requires valuation, forensic accounting, or mental health evaluation.
Outside the courtroom, Burke participates in professional programs offered by the Family Law Section and Queen’s Bench. Those programs keep her current on procedural changes and shifting appellate rulings. Continuing education forms a part of her professional life, as does regular engagement with other family law practitioners in San Francisco.
She maintains a practice that serves individuals and families navigating separation, custody disputes, and support issues. She currently represents clients in family law matters in San Francisco.
