About Kathryn Land
Kathryn Land Synor earned her law degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2002 after completing a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 1995. Her academic path combined a liberal arts background and formal legal training, setting the stage for a career that moved quickly from associate work to public service and private practice.
Fresh out of law school in 2002, she began as an associate at the Law Office of O Hara and O Connell. Two years later she took a position as an assistant lawyer general in Missouri, a role that placed her inside government practice and exposed her to state-level legal processes. She returned to private practice in 2006 at the Law Office of Edward J. Grewach. In 2009 she opened her own practice, which has operated since under the name The Law Office of Kathryn J. Synor and, later, Law Office of Kathryn J. Synor, LLC.
Synor is admitted to practice in both Missouri and New York. Those dual jurisdictions reflect her educational roots in New York and her professional life in Missouri. Her membership in the Missouri State Bar Association and long-standing participation in the Lincoln County Bar Association underscore steady engagement with the local legal community. She has served as president of the Lincoln County Bar Association since 2008, having been a member there since 2006.
Outside the courtroom and office, Synor has taken on civic and business responsibilities. She has chaired Friends of Lincoln County Medical Center since 2009, helping guide a community nonprofit that supports local healthcare. Since 2011 she has been a board member of Silex Banking Company, a position that places her at the intersection of legal counsel and corporate governance. These roles reflect an interest in institutions that shape community life, from health care to finance.
Her practice path shows a mix of government experience, private firm work, and solo practice. She has navigated small-firm realities and municipal and community leadership positions. Today she operates out of Law Office of Kathryn J. Synor, LLC. Her current practice is conducted through that firm and serves clients in Missouri and New York, addressing a range of local legal needs.
