About Katherine
Katherine Zalantis earned her J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 1995 after completing a B.A. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1991. The sequence of degrees placed her squarely on the path to practice in the Northeast. Her legal education came at a moment when many of her peers were moving into firm litigation and regulatory work; she entered practice soon after graduating.
Her professional career began in a large firm environment. In 1996 she joined Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP as a lawyer. That early period exposed her to the routines and demands of an established practice and set the stage for her later move into a smaller firm setting. In 2005 she became a partner at Silverberg Zalantis LLC, a step that marked her transition into a leadership role within a more compact firm structure.
Zalantis holds memberships in both the New York and Connecticut state bars. She also participates in local bar organizations in Westchester County. She has been a member of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the Westchester Bar Association since 1996. Her involvement with the White Plains Bar Association dates from 2000 and continues to the present. Those memberships indicate sustained engagement with the regional legal community over multiple decades.
Colleagues describe her as steady in practice and practical in approach. Her background spans the scale of modern firms: time in a large national firm followed by partnership in a smaller New York firm. That trajectory has informed how she manages files, works with clients and coordinates with opposing counsel. It has also meant regular work across state lines, in jurisdictions where she is admitted to practice.
Her resume is a record of long-term participation rather than one of rapid shifts. She moved into firm partnership roughly a decade after first entering practice. She maintained local bar ties throughout that period. The combination of large firm training and long-term community involvement frames the professional profile she presents to clients and peers.
She is based at Silverberg Zalantis LLC and maintains active practice in matters arising in New York and Connecticut. Her current work is conducted from the firm’s office and addresses issues that require counsel admitted in both states.
