About Karina N.
Karina N. Lallande earned her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2007, completing a double major in sociology and global studies with a socio-economic and political emphasis. She went on to receive her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 2010. Her academic background combines social science and law, and it informs the way she approaches disputes and client counseling.
After law school, Lallande built a practice that spans both state and federal courts. She is admitted to the California bar and to several federal forums, including the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions have allowed her to handle matters that require filings and appearances across multiple jurisdictions.
Lallande has been active in legal organizations for much of her career. She joined Consumer Lawyers of California in 2010 and the American Association for Justice in 2014. Since 2016 she has served on the Board of Directors for Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities. She has been a member of the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Board of Governors since 2018. Earlier, she served on the Board of Governors of the Long Beach Bar Association from 2017 to 2018. Those roles have kept her engaged in the professional community and involved in bar-related activities.
Her courtroom and appellate admissions reflect a practice that handles litigation across different levels of the judicial system. She has experience preparing pleadings and motions for federal district courts and for appellate review. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing cases and attentive to procedural detail. She balances written advocacy with personal client work.
Lallande’s career path shows steady involvement in plaintiff-oriented legal organizations and trial lawyer charities. That affiliation pattern has shaped her network and the kinds of matters she typically encounters. She has spent years working on behalf of individual clients and working alongside other plaintiff attorneys on cases that require coordination across firms and courts.
She practices at Nguyen Theam Lawyers, LLP, where she continues to represent clients in civil litigation matters across California and in federal courts. Her current practice focuses on litigation in both trial and appellate venues.
