About Kara
Kara Harp built a practical foundation in communication and human behavior before turning to the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky in 2009, concentrating on mass communication and psychology. She later completed her Juris Doctor at Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.
She joined The Lawrence Firm, PSC as an associate lawyer in 2014 and has continued there since. Harp is licensed to practice in both Ohio and Kentucky and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Her work regularly places her in state and federal courtrooms across the region.
Harp maintains an active profile in professional groups that track developments in civil litigation and injury law. Her memberships include the American Association for Justice, the Kentucky Justice Association, the Ohio Association for Justice and the Birth Trauma Litigation Group. She also serves on the Northern Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Executive Board, a role that combines outreach and professional development for early-career attorneys.
Colleagues describe Harp as methodical in case preparation and deliberate in courtroom settings. She handles client intake, fact development and the drafting of pleadings and motions. When a matter proceeds toward trial she participates in witness preparation and trial strategy. Her caseload brings regular exposure to expert testimony and complex medical records, and she works with outside consultants when cases demand specialized review.
Harp’s background in mass communication and psychology informs how she frames issues for juries and how she communicates with clients facing stressful situations. She remains engaged with professional groups that follow changes in tort law and medical liability practice. She practices from The Lawrence Firm’s Cincinnati office and accepts cases across Ohio and Kentucky. Her current practice centers on civil litigation, including medical negligence and birth-injury matters.
