About Justin

Justin Stephens built the legal foundation that would shape his career at Southeast Missouri State University, where he completed undergraduate studies in 2002. He went on to earn his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2006. Those years in school set a clear path to practice in Missouri and provided the practical training that lawyers rely on early in their careers.

After law school, Stephens entered private practice and spent part of his early career at Husch, Blackwell, Sanders, Welsh & Katz LLP. He worked in a large firm environment where he gained exposure to the demands of serving business and individual clients. That experience exposed him to firm processes and case management at scale, and it shaped how he approaches client matters today.

Throughout his career Stephens has focused on providing legal counsel and representation to clients in Missouri. He has worked with colleagues and clients on matters that required attention to detail, time-sensitive filings, and coordination across teams. He is known among peers for an even-handed approach to client communications and for handling procedural and substantive issues steadily.

In time he left the larger firm setting and moved into a smaller office environment. That shift allowed him to handle files more directly and to manage client relationships day to day. Colleagues describe him as practical in his legal work and deliberate in courtroom and negotiation settings. He draws on his prior firm experience when advising clients and when structuring case strategy.

Today Stephens practices from Stephens Kelly Law. He maintains his license to practice in Missouri and spends his time on matters that arise under state law. His office handles client intake, case preparation, and representation in court when cases proceed to litigation. He balances client-facing work with the behind-the-scenes research and drafting that most legal matters require.

Outside the office he remains connected to professional circles in the state. He keeps current on developments in Missouri law and participates in professional associations. He continues to serve clients through Stephens Kelly Law, concentrating his practice on legal matters in Missouri.
