About Michael
Michael Sheldon came to law by way of the Midwest. He earned a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Illinois State University in 2018 and completed his Juris Doctor at Saint Louis University School of Law in 2020. Those years framed his transition from undergraduate study to legal training and the start of a professional practice in Missouri.
His first firm experience came while he was still in law school. In 2019 Sheldon worked as a law clerk at Burger Law, where he handled research, drafted motions and assisted with case preparation. That role gave him a close view of litigation work and the routines of a client-focused practice. After passing through the clerkship, he returned to Burger Law as a lawyer in 2021.
The move from clerk to attorney at the same firm allowed him to take on fuller responsibilities quickly. As an attorney he has managed case files, appeared in court and worked directly with clients to develop strategy. Colleagues describe him as methodical; his work emphasizes careful preparation and steady file management. He has remained with Burger Law since joining the firm in a professional capacity.
Sheldon is licensed to practice in Missouri. He maintains professional memberships and participates in local legal circles. Outside the office he has continued to refine courtroom skills and casework techniques learned during his clerkship and early attorney years. That practical work forms the core of his professional development.
Clients and co-workers see him as someone who attends to the details that matter in litigation: deadlines, evidence organization and clear communication. His approach tends to be procedural and straightfoward. He balances courtroom tasks with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps cases moving, from drafting pleadings to coordinating with experts.
He handles matters on behalf of Burger Law’s clients and supports the firm’s casework across its offices. His daily practice involves client interviews, legal research and courtroom appearances when cases progress to trial settings. He has remained in the same firm since his clerkship and has continued to build his practice there.
He currently practices at Burger Law in Missouri, handling client representation and case development.
