About Justin
Justin Ketchel built his legal foundation at Duquesne University School of Law. He arrived in the law school classroom prepared to learn the mechanics of advocacy and the structure of state law. Those years set the tone for a practice rooted in courtroom procedure and client counseling.
After earning his J.D., Ketchel established himself in Pennsylvania. He took a steady path into private practice and, in 2013, became Senior Lawyer and Owner of Ketchel Law. That step formalized a role he had been developing: leading a small firm while handling a broad docket. Ownership brought administrative duties and client work into a single daily routine.
Colleagues describe him as a straightforward practitioner who balances litigation tasks with client advising. He appears regularly in matters brought in Pennsylvania courts and handles filings, hearings and case strategy. His work mixes preparation and advocacy. He spends time drafting pleadings, conducting discovery and briefing motions, and he also meets with clients to shape expectations and next steps.
Ketchel maintains memberships in professional organizations and participates in local legal circles. Those memberships keep him engaged with peers and current practice developments. He also stays connected to the procedural rules and case law that affect practice in state courts.
Running a firm requires attention to more than cases. Ketchel handles the business side of law practice, including case management, client intake and supervising support staff. That operational work occupies part of his schedule, alongside court appearances and client meetings. The combination of managerial and legal responsibilities defines much of his routine.
Outside the office, he has kept a practical approach to professional development. He attends programs and seminars that reinforce courtroom skill and legal updates. That practical continuing education supports the day-to-day tasks his clients bring to the firm and helps him respond to changes in Pennsylvania law.
Ketchel Law is the base for his ongoing practice. He works from that office serving clients whose matters proceed in Pennsylvania courts. He currently practices at Ketchel Law, handling cases and advising clients in matters brought in Pennsylvania courts.
