About Judson
Judson Cohen studied accounting before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting in 1989 after beginning the program in 1985. He then attended the University of Miami School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1992.
Cohen built a career that bridges state and federal practice. He is admitted to practice in Florida and holds admissions to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida. He is also admitted to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court. Those credentials have shaped a litigation practice that regularly moves between county courthouses and federal dockets.
Early in his career Cohen became active in professional and civic organizations. He joined The Florida Bar in 1992 and began participating in its committee work, serving as chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee from 2005 to 2011. He later chaired the Florida Bar Small Claims Court Rules Committee from 2012 to 2016 and was a member of the Florida Bar Committee on Judicial Administration from 2012 to 2018. He also maintains memberships in the American Bar Association, the Miami-Dade Bar Association and professional groups that tie lawyers to local business networks.
His peers recognize trial experience. The Florida Bar lists him as Civil Trial certified, and he has held membership in the Florida Bar Civil Trial Specialist group since 2017. That certification signals courtroom experience in civil disputes and a sustained involvement in trial practice matters.
Cohen has combined practice and firm leadership. He is a partner at Weinstein & Cohen, P.A., where he participates in the firm’s litigation docket. He has also taken on local leadership roles outside the courthouse. He has been president of the Florida Lawyers Network - Doral chapter since 2019, and he has been active in BNI Miami Beach since 2006. Associations such as the American Association for Justice and other bar organizations have been part of his professional life for decades.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and attentive to procedural detail. He appears regularly in civil matters in Florida courts and in federal tribunals where he is admitted. He continues to practice as a partner at Weinstein & Cohen, P.A., handling civil trial matters in Florida and in federal courts.
