About Joshua

Joshua Wood earned his law degree from Arizona Summit Law School after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. His academic path combined classroom study with exposure to the regional political and legal issues that shape practice in the Southwest. He moved from study to practice in the same geographic area where he trained.

Wood’s professional credentials include licensure to practice in Arizona and New Mexico. He has operated in both state systems and built a practice that serves individuals and organizations across jurisdictional lines. That dual-state standing allows him to address questions that cross borders between the two states.

Over the course of his career he has worked in private practice settings and through his own practice entities. He handles client matters that arise under Arizona and New Mexico law and regularly appears before state administrative bodies and courts when cases require it. His work requires attention to local rules and an ability to manage cases through different procedural systems.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing matters for hearings and trials. He tends to approach problems by breaking them into concrete issues, then addressing each in turn. He also spends time on client intake and case strategy so that expectations are clear from the outset. That practical orientation shapes how he communicates legal options to people who are new to the legal system.

Wood has continued to maintain professional ties in the region. He attends continuing legal education programs and participates in professional networks to stay current on changes in state law. He also mentors younger attorneys in procedural practice and courtroom preparation, sharing lessons learned from his practice in both Arizona and New Mexico.

Today he practices through Wood Law Group, PLLC and Wood Law Group, LLC. He manages client matters through those firms and handles filings, hearings and negotiations across the two states where he is licensed. He currently practices through Wood Law Group, PLLC and Wood Law Group, LLC, representing clients in matters across Arizona and New Mexico.
