About Joshua L.
Joshua L. Bearden entered the legal world with a clear academic trajectory. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2019 and returned to Athens for law school, receiving his J.D. from The University of Georgia School of Law in 2022. Those years framed his understanding of law and policy and prepared him for practice.
After law school, Bearden moved into private practice. He joined Cook Law Group LLC as an associate lawyer. The role put him to work on client matters early on. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to legal research and practical in court preparation, qualities that matter for a newer attorney building a practice.
Bearden’s classroom years were recent enough that he entered practice with up-to-date exposure to modern litigation tools and procedures. He completed law study at a time when digital filing and virtual hearings were increasingly common, and those realities have carried over into his day-to-day work. He brings that recent training to bear in managing case files, drafting pleadings, and preparing for hearings.
At Cook Law Group LLC, Bearden has worked on a range of matters handled by the firm. He collaborates with senior lawyers on case strategy and takes responsibility for substantive tasks in litigation and client advising. The associate role has him handling discovery, drafting motions, and meeting with clients. He also participates in the firm’s internal planning and day-to-day client communications, helping to convert legal strategy into actionable steps.
Outside formal descriptions of duties, Bearden approaches each matter as a legal problem to be solved. He balances careful legal analysis with practical steps aimed at resolving disputes and advancing client interests. He currently practices at Cook Law Group LLC, where he handles a variety of legal matters for the firm’s clients.
