About Joshua
Joshua Kroot built a career that moves from public service to commercial litigation. He began after college with a stint in the Peace Corps in 2004. That early experience in the field shaped an approach to problem solving that shows up in his later legal work.
He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan — Ann Arbor in 2002 and then attended the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2006. He pursued postgraduate study at the London School of Economics and Political Science, completing an LL.M. in 2008. Those academic years included time spent in both domestic and international legal settings.
Kroot's early legal roles included work as a legal advisor for CHF International in 2007 and for Hughes Media Law in 2009. He moved into private practice in 2010 as a business and complex litigation lawyer at Dentons. At Dentons he handled a range of commercial disputes and contributed to litigation teams on cross-border matters and domestic business litigation.
He holds admissions in California and New York and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Second Circuits. He is active in professional circles, maintaining membership in the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Those affiliations have provided a regular forum for keeping current on case law and procedural developments relevant to business litigation.
Colleagues describe Kroot as steady in the courtroom and meticulous in pretrial work. He balances litigation strategy with attention to the often overlooked details of discovery and motion practice. His background — from international study to on-the-ground public service and large firm litigation — gives him a range of perspectives he brings to client matters.
Today he practices at Primary Law Group. His work continues to center on commercial disputes and complex business litigation, where he handles litigation matters for corporate and institutional clients.
