About Josh J.

Josh J. Wright built a practice grounded in courtroom work and institutional leadership. He earned a B.S. in Economics from Auburn University before taking his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. Those two institutions shaped his approach to litigation and practice management.

Early in his career he moved into trial work and into roles that required organizing others. Over time he assumed leadership positions in statewide legal organizations. He served as president of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation and later as past president of the Alabama Trial Lawyers. Those posts put him in frequent contact with judges, fellow lawyers and lawmakers across the state.

He has been active in bar life beyond those presidencies. He holds membership in the Alabama State Bar and the Alabama Association for Justice. He also serves on the board of directors of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation. His roles have ranged from governance and fundraising to programming for lawyers and public outreach about the civil court system.

Inside the firm, Wright is managing partner at Hollis Wright. He oversees day-to-day firm operations while also handling cases. Colleagues describe him as someone who balances casework with administrative responsibilities. He has responsibility for mentoring younger lawyers and for setting the firm’s litigation priorities.

Wright’s public work emphasizes civil justice issues. As president of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation he led efforts to support legal education and to promote access to civil courts. As president of Alabama Trial Lawyers he was involved in initiatives aimed at improving trial skills and preserving jury trials as a civil institution. Those leadership posts have informed how he approaches both litigation strategy and bar advocacy.

He tries cases in Alabama courts and participates in state-level bar activities. His practice reflects the combination of trial experience and organizational work that has defined his career. He continues to represent clients through Hollis Wright while maintaining active involvement in the state bar and legal associations.

He currently practices civil litigation at Hollis Wright in Alabama.
