About Joseph
Joseph Whitcomb began his academic journey studying international relations before turning to law. He earned a Master of Science in International Relations at Troy University’s Dothan campus and later attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he completed a J.D. and subsequently an LL.M. in International Business Transactions. The advanced study in business transactions sits alongside training in law and public policy.
He entered public service early in his career. In 2009 he worked as a lawyer for the Social Security Administration, handling administrative matters and representing the agency’s interests. Those years in government gave him direct experience with federal procedures and administrative practice. The role also exposed him to clients, adjudicative hearings and the mechanics of federal benefit programs.
Whitcomb moved into private practice after that stint. In 2011 he joined McDivitt Law as a senior lawyer and took on a broader litigation docket. A year later he established Whitcomb Law PC and became its president. Running his own firm shifted responsibilities beyond casework. He balanced litigation and client counseling while overseeing the business side of a small law office.
He maintains multiple admissions, including to the Colorado bar and to the federal appellate courts that serve the region: the 10th Circuit and the Federal Circuit. He has been a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association since 2011, participating in that professional community and its continuing legal education offerings. His background combines administrative experience, courtroom practice and specialized graduate study in international business transactions.
Whitcomb operates out of offices in Denver and Herndon. He manages cases that arise in state and federal forums and draws on years in both government and private practice to advise clients. He currently leads Whitcomb Law PC and concentrates his practice on matters that proceed in state and federal courts.
