About Ariana
Ariana Busby began her legal and policy training at the University of Colorado Denver, where she completed a B.A. in Public Policy and Government. She went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Denver. Those academic steps set the stage for a career that blends law, public policy and regulatory work in Colorado.
Busby’s early career unfolded in the Colorado State Senate. She started as a policy intern in 2012 and advanced to policy analyst by 2013. By 2014 she was serving as Policy & Budget Director, a role that placed her at the intersection of legislative strategy and fiscal oversight. In 2017 she was named Chief of Staff for the Colorado State Senate, a senior position that involved managing legislative priorities and staff operations.
Her move toward administrative law and regulation came after her time in the Senate. In 2017 she worked as a summer associate doing administrative law at KBN Law. In 2019 she joined the Department of Regulatory Agencies as Director for the Mental Health Boards. That post put her in charge of board processes, licensure questions and disciplinary matters tied to mental health professions. Later that year she joined Hall & Evans as a lawyer, handling matters that drew on both her regulatory background and courtroom training.
In 2021 Busby opened Busby Law Group, PLLC and became its owner. The firm represents clients on administrative and regulatory issues rooted in state law. Her background in the legislature and at the Department of Regulatory Agencies informs how she approaches licensing disputes, rulemaking challenges and agency proceedings. She has experience drafting policy language, preparing administrative filings and advising clients on compliance with state regulations.
Busby holds LexisNexis certifications in legal research and professional research. Those credentials reflect an emphasis on thorough case law and regulatory research in her practice. She is licensed in Colorado and maintains a practice that engages with government entities, license boards and private clients facing regulatory enforcement.
Her current practice focuses on administrative, regulatory and mental health licensing matters in Colorado.
