About Joseph L. Benson
Joseph L. Benson II built a path from hotel administration to the courtroom. He earned a B.S. in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 1993. He returned to school and took a law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2000.
After law school he began his legal career as an associate at Benson, Bertoldo, Baker & Carter in 2000. That role placed him in the practical end of litigation work early on. Three years later he helped establish Benson & Bingham Accident Injury Lawyers, LLC and assumed the role of managing partner in 2003. He remains tied to that firm, where he oversees case work and the firm’s trial matters.
Benson is licensed in Nevada and admitted to the Ninth Circuit. Records show active membership in the Nevada State Bar beginning in 2000. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in both New Hampshire and Arizona for out-of-state representation when matters required it.
Over the years Benson has joined several professional organizations that reflect his courtroom practice. He is a member of the Clark County Bar Association and the American Bar Association, both since 2000. He joined the American Association for Justice and the National Association of Personal Injury Lawyers in 2005. He is listed as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum since 2004 and was recognized as a Guardian of Justice through the Nevada Justice Association starting in 2011. He also maintains affiliations with his alma maters, listed with the UNLV Foundation and the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association beginning in 2013.
His practice centers on personal injury and accident litigation. He has handled auto accident claims and other injury cases in state court and in federal court under the Ninth Circuit’s jurisdiction. The firm’s work includes pretrial negotiation and courtroom advocacy, and Benson’s role as managing partner places him at the center of trial decision-making and case strategy.
Colleagues describe him as an attorney who focuses on the mechanics of litigation and trial preparation. He is active in local and national bar groups and participates in professional networks that support litigation practice. As of 2026 he continues to practice at Benson & Bingham Accident Injury Lawyers, LLC, handling personal injury and accident matters on behalf of clients.
