About Joseph Kelly
Joseph Kelly Levasseur built his academic foundation at Southern New Hampshire University, where he earned an MBA in business and marketing in 1996. He went on to study law at Massachusetts School of Law and received his J.D. in 2000. Those credentials set the stage for a career split between courtroom work and local public service.
He began practicing law in Manchester and by 2003 was working as a personal injury lawyer in the city. Over the years he handled a range of civil claims on behalf of individuals, moving cases through discovery, settlement negotiations, and trial when needed. He has appeared in matters originating in New Hampshire and in the federal courts of the 1st Circuit.
Civic life entered his professional story in 2012, when he was elected Alderman at Large for the City of Manchester. He has continued in that role while maintaining his legal practice. The combination of municipal elected office and day-to-day client work has given him regular exposure to local governance and constituent concerns, alongside courtroom routines and client advocacy.
Levasseur's affiliations reflect his practice and interests. He has been a member of the National College for DUI Defense since 2017. He has also been associated with the New Hampshire Association for Justice and held membership in NHAJ between 2014 and 2018. Those connections mirror the litigation side of his work and his engagement with practitioner groups focused on trial practice.
Colleagues and clients have encountered him across a variety of civil matters. He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. His roster of work has centered on personal injury cases, though the municipal post has added a layer of public-service responsibilities that overlap with community issues and local law.
He practices from Lawyer Joseph Kelly Levasseur, PLLC in Manchester. He continues to accept personal injury and related civil matters, balancing private practice with his ongoing duties as an alderman at large.
