Joseph B. Angelo is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2010 and holds bar number 268542. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Angelo is a managing partner at Gale, Angelo, Johnson & Patrick P.C., a law firm with offices in Roseville, Concord, and San Francisco, California. He has been practicing law for over 16 years, serving clients throughout Northern California.
Mr. Angelo earned his Juris Doctor degree from Willamette University College of Law in 2009. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History in 2005. During his time at Willamette University, he served as an Associate Editor for the Willamette Law Review, gaining experience in labor and employment law and criminal and insurance defense as a law clerk.
Mr. Angelo concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy and consumer litigation. He represents both individual debtors and businesses in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters. In consumer litigation, he advocates for clients under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Rosenthal Act in state and federal courts. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings. He also has appellate experience, having worked on cases before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Throughout his career, Mr. Angelo has handled cases in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a senior associate at a consumer bankruptcy law firm in Concord, California, from 2010 to 2019.
Mr. Angelo is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He has been recognized on the Northern California Super Lawyers list from 2020 to 2023. He is fluent in English, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Northern California effectively.
