About Kent O.
Kent O. Kirmaci built his legal foundation in California. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2003. He then completed a Juris Doctor at Golden Gate University School of Law in 2007.
After law school, Kirmaci took the path into courtroom practice and became a member of the State Bar of California in 2010. The following year he secured membership in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, an admission that opened the federal courthouse doors for his litigation work.
Kirmaci is authorized to practice in California and before the Federal Circuit. Those jurisdictions shape where he files cases and argues motions. Over time he has navigated both state court dockets and federal appellate procedures. The record of court memberships points to a practice that crosses levels of the judiciary rather than staying only at one tier.
Colleagues describe Kirmaci as steady in court and deliberate in written filings. He approaches cases in the conventional mold of trial and appellate work: prepare the record, press the legal points, and follow the procedural rules closely. He balances the immediate needs of clients with the longer timelines of appeals when cases move beyond trial courts.
His education at UCSB and Golden Gate provided a mix of social science perspective and practical lawyering. The undergraduate study of political science and law and society lends context to how legal disputes intersect with institutions. Law school supplied the doctrinal and procedural tools he would use daily in court.
Kirmaci’s memberships in the State Bar of California and the Northern District of California have been continuous since 2010 and 2011, respectively. They reflect a practice grounded in California litigation, with the Federal Circuit admission ensuring access to a specialized appellate forum when cases touch on federal questions within that court’s jurisdiction.
He works on matters filed in California courts and in federal forums, and he maintains the authorizations needed to appear in both state and federal proceedings. He currently practices in California and handles matters that reach the Federal Circuit.
