About Joram

Joram Hirsch graduated from Wesleyan University in 1976 with a degree in economics and earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1979. Those formative years set the stage for a steady, traditional path into the courtroom and the bench. He began his legal career almost immediately after law school, taking a clerkship in 1979 for John P. Cotter, then Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court.

That clerkship led to private practice. In 1980 he joined Day, Berry & Howard, where he worked on a range of matters early in his career. Three years later he moved to Cohen and Wolf, P.C., taking on litigation and trial responsibilities that would shape his professional trajectory. Over time he helped establish Hirsch Andrade, LLP, where he practices today.

Hirsch holds admission to multiple federal and state courts. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect years spent in litigation and appellate work across trial and higher courts.

His professional memberships trace a clear line through the trial bar. He belongs to the Connecticut State Bar, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice, an organization historically tied to trial attorneys. For more than a decade he participated in the Raymond E. Baldwin American Inn of Court, an affiliation he maintained from 1989 through 2000.

Colleagues describe Hirsch as steady and methodical in court. He has handled matters at both the trial and appellate levels, and his background includes the procedural and substantive work that comes with complex litigation. His earlier clerkship gave him an insider’s view of judicial decision-making, a perspective he has applied in subsequent practice.

At Hirsch Andrade, LLP he continues to represent clients in matters that require courtroom experience and appellate know-how. His long-standing memberships in trial-oriented organizations align with the litigation work he performs. He remains active in the Connecticut legal community and practices in federal and state courts, including appellate forums and the U.S. Supreme Court when cases warrant it.

He maintains his practice at Hirsch Andrade, LLP, concentrating on trial practice and civil litigation in Connecticut and federal courts.
