About Jonathan
Jonathan Roven graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2009 with a B.A. in economics and earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2012. He moved into legal work soon after law school and has practiced in California throughout his career. His academic background in economics informs how he approaches factual and financial issues in client matters.
Roven’s early legal experience includes a series of internships and entry-level positions that gave him exposure to both private practice and public interest work. He worked as a legal intern at the Law Offices of Mark Schondorf in 2010 and spent parts of 2011 with the Law Offices of David Helfant and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. He also served as a legal intern for Alfred N. Roven, M.D., Inc. in 2005. These roles provided experience in client counseling, case preparation and courtroom procedure.
After completing law school, Roven opened the Law Office of Jonathan D. Roven, APC in 2012. That step put him in the role of a practicing lawyer handling matters for individual clients. Two years later he joined Kahn Roven, LLP as a partner in 2014, a position listed among his principal roles. At the firm he assumed greater responsibility for litigation management and for coordinating case strategy across teams.
Roven maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is active in the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association and TENEsq. Those affiliations reflect regular engagement with professional peers and the continuing education programs that bar groups provide. He is licensed to practice in California.
Throughout his career Roven has combined courtroom work with client counseling. His background spans individual representation and collaborative work inside a firm setting. He has worked in both smaller solo practice and in a partnership, and that range of settings informs how he staffs matters and prepares for hearings.
Roven maintains offices in Los Angeles and Woodland Hills and continues to practice in California. He currently handles employment and related civil litigation matters in state courts and engages in client advising on workplace disputes.
