About Jonathan Lewis
Jonathan Lewis Stone built a foundation in public policy and law that shows in the arc of his career. He earned a B.A. in political science from High Point University in 1998, followed by a Master of Public Policy from American University in 2000. He completed his legal studies at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2007. Those three degrees shaped a perspective that blends policy thinking with courtroom work.
Stone began his legal career soon after law school. In 2007 he joined Stallings & Bischoff, P.C., where he worked as a lawyer and learned the routines of client work and litigation practice. He moved on in 2012 to Norris & St. Clair, P.C., taking on broader responsibilities and more complex matters. In 2017 he took a position at The Moody Law Office, Inc., where he continues to practice today.
Admission to practice in multiple jurisdictions has marked his professional steps. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 2007. He added membership in the West Virginia State Bar in 2019. Locally, peers elected him to lead the Virginia Beach Bar Association in 2019, a one-year term that placed him at the center of the city’s legal community and involved managing bar activities and events.
Colleagues describe Stone as steady in court and deliberate out of it. Early in his career he gained experience that included courtroom appearances and client counseling. His public policy training occasionally informs how he frames litigation strategy and prepares administrative submissions. He has moved between firm environments, from small firm practice to his current office, adapting to different client needs and procedural settings along the way.
At The Moody Law Office, Inc., Stone handles cases that require work across state lines. He practices in both Virginia and West Virginia courts and manages matters that call for procedural knowledge in each jurisdiction. His background in public policy and years in private practice give him a practical vantage point when addressing statutory and regulatory issues.
Outside formal practice roles, Stone’s bar leadership in Virginia Beach signaled an interest in the civic side of the profession. He has maintained active bar memberships and continued involvement in the regional legal community. He now practices at The Moody Law Office, Inc., representing clients in matters across Virginia and West Virginia courts.
