About John
John Tenn earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University in 1989 and completed his law degree at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1992. Those years set a clear path from business studies to courtroom practice. He moved into practice quickly after law school and established roots in New Hampshire law.
He became active in the New Hampshire Bar Association in 1992 and holds licensure in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Early in his career Tenn combined civil and criminal work, learning the different demands each area places on courtroom strategy and client counseling.
In 1995 he founded Tenn and Tenn, PA, where he has served as a partner since the firm’s formation. The firm grew out of local ties and steady caseloads in personal injury matters. Tenn’s profile reflects long-term practice in New Hampshire courts and a sustained presence in regional litigation. Over the years he has handled cases that required both negotiated settlements and trials, adapting to changing rules and case law along the way.
Outside trial dockets, Tenn is a Rule 170 mediator for the New Hampshire Superior Court. That certification signals experience in dispute resolution and in helping parties reach agreements without prolonged litigation. He maintains memberships in several professional organizations that align with the work he does. These include the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National College of DUI Defense. He also belongs to the Manchester Bar Association, the Massachusetts State Bar, the New Hampshire Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Thurgood Marshall and Daniel Webster American Inns of Court, the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild of New Hampshire, and the Campaign for Legal Services board.
Tenn’s practice reflects both his education in business and his long tenure at the bar. He manages cases that involve personal injury claims while also addressing criminal defense matters, including DUI-related cases. He continues to handle litigation in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and accepts matters that require admission before the U.S. Supreme Court when appropriate. He currently practices at Tenn and Tenn, PA, where his work concentrates on personal injury and criminal defense matters.
