About John E

John E Botti built a legal path that moves between public service and private practice. He began his higher education at Villanova University and completed his legal studies at The John Marshall Law School. Those classrooms set the stage for a career that has run through county courthouses and federal courtrooms.

Early in his career he worked inside two contrasting offices. In 2005 he served as a law student clerk at the Cook County Public Defender's Office. That role placed him on the defense side of criminal matters. Two years later he joined the DuPage County office as a prosecutor. Those consecutive experiences gave him a view of the justice system from both perspectives.

He entered private practice and, in 2012, became a partner at Botti Law Office, P.C. The firm is the base for his current work. Over more than a decade there he has taken on cases that require courtroom experience and case management, and he has represented clients in proceedings across county and federal dockets.

Licensure and court admissions reflect a practice that extends beyond state lines. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and also to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and for the Northern District of Indiana. He maintains active membership in the State Bar of Illinois and belongs to the DuPage County Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

Those memberships align with a career that blends trial work and client counseling. His background as both a public defender’s clerk and a county prosecutor informs how he approaches evidence, witness preparation, and plea negotiations. He has experience drafting motions, arguing before judges, and managing the practical demands of litigation and client communication.

Clients and colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparation and straightforward in explanation. He prefers clear strategy over flash, and he emphasizes practical steps a client can take during a case. Outside the courtroom he continues professional involvement through local bar associations, maintaining ties to the legal community in the Chicago area and DuPage County.

He practices from Botti Law Office, P.C., and his work is conducted in state and federal courts. He currently practices at Botti Law Office, P.C., where his work focuses on litigation in Illinois and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern Districts of Illinois and Indiana.
