About Angela M
Angela M Iaria trained in the Midwest and built her early legal resume through a mix of clerkships and internships. She earned a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 2004 and completed her J.D. at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2009. Those years include hands-on experience in courthouse and firm settings that shaped her path into private practice.
While still a student, she worked as a law clerk at Godfrey, Leibsle, Blackbourn & Howarth, S.C. and served as a judicial intern for the Walworth County Circuit Court. In 2009 she spent time interning at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, then joined Lillig & Thorsness, Ltd. as an associate lawyer that same year. She is admitted to practice in both Wisconsin and Illinois and has remained active in county and local bar activities.
Iaria’s involvement in professional organizations has been steady and visible. She has held multiple leadership roles in the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, serving as treasurer from 2014 to 2017, third vice president in 2017, second vice president in 2018, and first vice president beginning in 2019. At the DuPage County Bar Association she has been a member of the Judiciary Committee since 2016 and joined the Estate Planning and Probate Committee in 2019. Those positions reflect ongoing engagement with colleagues and the local bench.
Her practical experience spans both firm work and court-side exposure. Early clerkships gave her a front-row view of courtroom procedure and judicial decision-making. Time at regional firms exposed her to client practice and case preparation. Since becoming an associate at Lillig & Thorsness, Ltd., she has carried that mix of courtroom familiarity and transactional practice into daily work.
Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and steady. She balances attention to detail with an awareness of the procedural steps that can matter most in litigation and probate matters. Her repeated service on committees tied to estate planning and the judiciary signals sustained interest in those areas and ongoing professional development within the local legal community.
She continues to practice at Lillig & Thorsness, Ltd., is active in the DuPage legal community, and her work includes estate planning and probate matters.
