About John Benjamin
John Benjamin Hancock earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 2022. He completed his legal education at a time when courts and client expectations were shifting quickly. The law school credential placed him among a recent class of Georgia-trained attorneys entering practice after an intense period of academic and practical training.
After graduation Hancock joined The King Firm as an associate lawyer. He became a member of the State Bar of Georgia in 2022 and has maintained that membership since. At the firm he moved into the kind of day-to-day work that turns classroom doctrine into client-centered advocacy.
Hancock represents people involved in automobile collisions and other personal injury matters. His responsibilities include investigating accidents, interviewing witnesses, gathering records, drafting pleadings and managing discovery. He negotiates with insurers and opposing counsel, and he assists in trial preparation when cases proceed to litigation. Those tasks make up the bulk of his practice and shape how he spends his time in the office and in the field.
The King Firm operates offices across central and south Georgia. Hancock works out of the Griffin, Macon and Tifton locations and handles cases arising in these communities and beyond. That geographic spread requires balancing courtroom calendars, client meetings and site visits. It also means he regularly coordinates with colleagues in different offices to tailor strategy to each case.
Clients and colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He seeks to explain options clearly and to keep clients informed about developments in a case. He prepares written work product expected in civil litigation and takes part in drafting motions and settlement documents. He also spends time preparing witness statements and compiling the evidence that supports a client’s claim.
Outside the office Hancock maintains active membership in the State Bar of Georgia and follows developments in state case law that affect personal injury practice. He continues to build experience handling the procedural and substantive issues that arise in motor vehicle crash and injury claims. He currently serves as an associate at The King Firm, practicing in the area of car accident and personal injury law across Georgia.
