About Jody L.
Jody L. Sellers earned her B.A. in political science from the University of Georgia in 2008 and went on to receive her J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2011. She entered the legal field at a time when courtroom experience and public defense work were shaping many young lawyers’ careers. Those early years left a clear mark on the choices she made thereafter.
While still a law student, Sellers gained practical experience at the Jones County Public Defender’s Office in 2008. She then spent time with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia as a law clerk in 2010. Records indicate she also held a membership with the National Criminal Defense College beginning in 2009, an involvement that points to sustained interest in criminal-defense practice.
After passing into practice, Sellers joined Singleton & Singleton, LLC as an associate in 2011. She later moved to Singleton, Pasley & Nuce, LLC, where she worked as an associate in 2014. Her responsibilities expanded quickly. By 2015 she was managing lawyer for the Griffin office of Pasley & Nuce, LLC, overseeing day-to-day operations and client matters in that location.
In 2017 Sellers launched The Sellers Law Office, LLC. She serves as owner and has overseen the firm’s work since then. Running a small firm required shifting from casework alone to handling administrative duties, client development and litigation strategy. Those tasks reshaped her perspective on practice management and client service.
Her career shows steady movement between public defense, federal office exposure and private practice. That mix has given her experience in criminal matters at different levels. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in the courtroom and deliberate in preparing cases. She tends to handle the full litigation cycle: investigation, motion practice and trial when cases proceed that far.
Sellers remains licensed in Georgia and maintains ties to professional training programs tied to criminal defense. She has continued to practice in the same state where she trained and began her career. Today she represents individuals and businesses from her practice in Georgia, handling criminal defense and related litigation matters.
She currently practices at The Sellers Law Office, LLC in Georgia, where her work concentrates on criminal defense and related litigation.
