About John B.

John B. Corbally began his professional life in the study of ideas. He earned a B.A. in philosophy from Iona College in 1983 and followed that with a master’s degree in philosophy from Boston College in 1994. More than half a decade later he turned to law, receiving his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2000. Those years of philosophical study stay visible in the way he frames legal questions and weighs competing arguments.

After law school Corbally moved into private practice. Records show he was working as a lawyer at J. Franklin Burns, P.C. by 2009. That role anchors much of his public professional record; it is where he has applied his legal training day to day. Colleagues describe a methodical approach to casework and a preference for careful preparation. He has spent the bulk of his practice serving clients under the laws of Georgia.

Corbally maintains active ties to the local legal community. He is a current member of the Georgia State Bar, the Atlanta Bar Association and the St. Thomas More Law Society. Those memberships keep him connected to continuing legal education, local networking and professional discussions that shape courtroom practice in the region. He participates in the forums and events that are typical for attorneys who work in regional firms and municipal courts.

Education and practice overlap in Corbally’s work. His study of philosophy informs how he analyzes statutes and precedent. That background also shows up in written work and in courtroom presentations, where clarity and structure help make legal positions easier to follow. On routine matters he emphasizes clear explanation for clients. On more contested matters he focuses on building records and organizing evidence in predictable ways.

Today Corbally continues to practice law in Georgia through J. Franklin Burns, P.C. He represents clients locally and remains engaged in the bar organizations that shape professional standards in the state. His current practice centers on representing clients in Georgia through his work at J. Franklin Burns, P.C.
