About John A. Bahe
John A. Bahe Jr. earned his law degree from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2002 after completing undergraduate studies at Centre College in 1998. He completed his formal education at a time when the legal landscape in Kentucky was showing renewed emphasis on courtroom advocacy. The years at Brandeis School of Law shaped his approach to practice and provided the foundation for a career spent primarily in the state’s trial courts.
He is admitted to practice in Kentucky and also holds admission to the United States District Courts for both the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky. Those credentials have allowed him to take cases beyond state court dockets and into federal forums when matters require it. Membership in local and state bar organizations has been part of his professional life since the early 2000s, reflecting ongoing ties to the Kentucky legal community.
Bahe is a partner at Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC. In that role he shares responsibility for managing litigation, preparing for trial, and advising clients on procedural and substantive issues that arise in contested matters. Colleagues describe his role as one that combines courtroom work with the everyday demands of running a law practice, from case strategy to client communication.
His professional affiliations include long-standing participation in several bar and advocacy groups. He is a Life Fellow of the Kentucky Bar Foundation. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 2009 and the Kentucky Justice Association since 2006. He joined the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association in 2002 and has maintained those memberships.
Throughout his career Bahe has focused on the mechanics of litigation. He appears regularly in hearings and trials at the state level and has handled matters that required federal filings. His work involves preparing pleadings, taking and defending depositions, and presenting evidence in court. That steady involvement in adversarial proceedings informs how he approaches each new file and client interaction.
He maintains an active role at Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC, where he represents clients in state and federal courts across Kentucky. His current practice concentrates on litigation in Kentucky state and federal courts.
