About Joelle A.
Joelle A. Perez earned her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2000. She completed her legal education at a time when alternative dispute resolution was growing as an option in family law. The law degree gave her the foundation to practice in New York and to later pursue formal training in mediation.
In 2012 she founded Peacemaker Divorce Mediation. She is listed as the firm’s founder, lawyer and divorce mediator. In that role she manages intake, conducts mediation sessions and prepares mediated settlement agreements. Her practice brings legal training and mediation techniques together to help separating couples resolve financial and parenting issues outside of court. Work at the practice combines case management and client counseling through a more structured negotiation process.
Perez holds a mediation certification from The Center for Mediation & Training. That credential supports the practice’s emphasis on mediated dispute resolution rather than litigation. She is licensed to practice in New York and has used mediation training to handle divorce-related matters. Her professional activity has centered on processes that encourage direct negotiation between parties and the drafting of agreements that reflect those negotiations.
Peacemaker Divorce Mediation, LLC is the current office through which Perez sees clients and conducts sessions. She founded the firm to provide an option for people seeking to resolve divorce issues through mediated negotiation. The practice operates under the structure of a limited liability company and describes a practice model built around attorney-led mediation. Perez continues to work as an attorney and mediator at Peacemaker Divorce Mediation, LLC, concentrating on divorce mediation.
