About Joel Mark
Joel Mark Snavely grew up during a period of steady change in legal education. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1984 and earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1991. He has been a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar since 1992 and has practiced in Pennsylvania for more than three decades.
Snavely joined Quinn Law Office early in his career and became a shareholder there in 1996. That move marked a turning point. It put him into firm leadership and regular client representation. Over the years he has handled litigation and the day-to-day responsibilities that come with running a law practice. Colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic in the courtroom and in firm management.
His professional affiliations paint a picture of the kinds of matters that have occupied his time. He is a current member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Erie County Coalition of Physicians and Lawyers. He has belonged to the Erie County Bar Association since 1992. He also participated in the American Inns of Court from 1992 until 2015, an involvement that kept him engaged with mentoring and professional development opportunities among trial lawyers and judges.
Courtroom work and adversarial practice have been constants in his career, shaped in part by those association ties. The Pennsylvania Defense Institute connection signals sustained engagement with defense-side litigation. The Erie County Coalition of Physicians and Lawyers links him to issues at the intersection of medicine and law, including professional-liability concerns. He has balanced casework with management duties at his firm, moving between client files and organizational tasks.
Outside formal memberships, Snavely’s career reflects a steady local presence. He has remained based in the same regional legal community and continued to work with local attorneys, health care providers and institutions. That continuity has helped him build long-term professional relationships and an understanding of the practical demands clients bring to litigation and dispute resolution.
He continues to practice law at Quinn Law Office in Pennsylvania, where his work centers on civil litigation and defense matters.
