About Jodie
Jodie Ganote built a nontraditional route to the law. She began her academic life in journalism and communications, earning a B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 1988. She later returned to graduate study at Xavier University, completing an M.A. in Executive Human Resource Development in 1994. A decade later she added a law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, receiving her J.D. in 2007.
Her early professional years were in the private sector. In the late 1990s she worked in sales and collections for Avaya, then part of AT&T/Lucent Technologies. That role put her in contact with businesses across the region and exposed her to the practical pressures that often drive people to seek legal help. In 2002 she moved into a role as a legal advocate at Cincinnati Works, where she began working directly with individuals facing employment and related challenges.
After law school she took an associate position in 2009 with Christopher L Jackson LLC. A year later she opened her own practice, founding Ganote Law LLC in 2010. She has run that firm since then, representing clients and handling the administrative demands of a small law office. Her career shows a steady progression from corporate roles to public-interest advocacy and then to private practice.
Ganote has been active in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky legal communities. She has served on the Cincinnati Bar Association Board of Trustees since 2013 and has held leadership posts in the Cincinnati Lawyers Club, including vice president since 2013 and secretary from 2011 to 2013. She has been involved in the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Committee in chair and vice-chair roles since 2011, and she chaired the Northern Kentucky Bar Association’s Women Lawyers section in 2009–2010. She is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Criminal Defense Association and has served on the Cincinnati Bar Association Young Lawyers Division board.
Pro bono and volunteer work has been part of her practice. She has volunteered with Legal Aid of Greater Cincinnati since 2010, taking cases and offering legal help to clients who would otherwise lack representation.
She maintains licenses to practice in both Kentucky and Ohio and operates her firm in the Cincinnati region. Her practice focuses on serving clients in Kentucky and Ohio.
