About Tad K.

Tad K. Brittingham entered the law after studying sociology at Hanover College, where he earned a B.A. in 2005. He continued his education at the University of Dayton School of Law and received his J.D. in 2008. Those formative years combined classroom study and early practical exposure that would shape his approach to criminal defense and courtroom work.

His first recorded public-sector role came in 2007 at the Montgomery County Public Defenders Office. After law school he took a position doing legal research for LexisNexis in 2008, a role that sharpened his analytic skills and familiarity with case law resources. In 2011 he joined the Hamilton County Public Defenders Office, where he worked as a public defender. That work placed him in the trenches of Ohio’s criminal justice system, handling client interviews, arraignments and courtroom appearances on a steady basis.

In 2015 he became an owner partner at The Law Offices of Steven R. Adams, LLC. That move shifted his responsibilities; he continued client representation while taking on aspects of practice management. His career path shows a mix of institutional public defense experience and private practice responsibilities. Over time he has moved between direct client advocacy and the administrative needs of running a firm practice.

His training includes certification in the administration of the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, an NHTSA student course. That credential is commonly relevant in cases that involve impaired driving allegations and roadside testing. He is also an active member of the State Bar of Ohio, maintaining affiliation with the state’s professional organization for attorneys.

Colleagues and clients describe his work in practical terms: case preparation, courtroom presence, and handling everyday litigation tasks that take a case from arraignment through resolution. He has experience counseling clients on plea options, preparing motions and conducting bench and jury hearings. His background in public defense informs how he approaches client contact and communication, and his research work early in his career contributes to his legal writing and motions practice.

Today he practices in Ohio and maintains an office at The Law Offices of Steven R. Adams, LLC. His practice involves criminal defense matters, including cases that involve impaired driving issues, and the routine litigation and client counseling that accompany that work. He currently concentrates his practice on representing individuals in Ohio state courts.
