JJ Poole began his professional path in journalism and later turned to law. He earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Georgia and subsequently completed a J.D. at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Those two degrees framed a career that has crossed industries: media, real estate, finance and the courts. Early academic training in reporting shaped an attention to detail that resurfaced in later legal work.
Poole’s career in finance and real estate spans more than two decades. He entered the mortgage industry in 2002 and held roles including Mortgage Banker and Senior Mortgage Banker before moving into management. By 2007 and 2008 he was managing branches and serving as a senior home mortgage consultant. In the 2010s he shifted toward real estate brokerage and investment, taking on titles such as Associate Broker at Keller Williams Buckhead, Managing Broker for Atlanta Star and Miami Star brokerages, and Senior Partner at New Image Capital. Those positions gave him sustained exposure to transactions, lending practices and investor relations.
After earning his law degree Poole took on both public and private legal roles. He served as a judicial law clerk at Spalding County State Court in 2017, worked as an attorney at the Dickason Law Group in 2018, and acted as a contract lawyer for Elite Law in 2019. He later became Managing Partner of his own practice in 2019. Poole also holds certifications that intersect law and sports: he is a Player Contract Advisor recognized by the National Football League Players Association and a Certified Player Agent for the National Basketball Players Association. Other professional credentials include Real Estate Technology Expert from the Miami Association of Realtors and Certified Foreign Investor Specialist from the Georgia Association of Realtors.
Poole maintains professional ties across Georgia and Florida. He is a member of numerous bar and business organizations, including the Atlanta Bar Association, Gate City Bar Association, Lawyers Club of Atlanta, and the Sports Lawyers Association. He participates in multiple realtor and chamber groups in the Miami area and serves on the Board of Governors of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, a role he began in 2017. He practices through JJ Poole Lawyer at Law, LLC and handles matters that reflect his combined background in sports representation, real estate transactions and related legal issues. His current practice is concentrated on matters arising in Georgia and Florida.
