About Jill E.

Jill E. Jester built a foundation in liberal arts before turning to law. She earned a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. Eighteen years later she received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2010, and she has remained connected to her law school through the Dean’s Counsel and the Young Alumni Leadership Circle.

Her career has combined private practice and civic leadership. She has been associated with Minor & Jester, P.C., where records list her as a lawyer in 2008. She has served in a series of volunteer and governance roles across Denton-area institutions. She was Chair Elect of the Denton Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and served as Immediate Past Chair of the chamber’s Board of Directors in 2021. In 2017 she was Vice Chair of the Economic Development Partnership Board for the City of Denton. Her work in higher education governance includes service as a Regent of Texas Woman’s University beginning in 2018 and a stint as Immediate Past Chair of TWU’s Board of Trustees in 2021.

Jester’s involvement extends to professional and community groups. She has been active in the Denton County Young Lawyers Association, where she held the office of President in 2014 and remains a member. She belongs to the Denton County Bar Association and has been listed as a member of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel since 2014. Local civic affiliations include the Denton Benefit League and past service on the Denton Festival Foundation Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2014. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Denton program.

On the licensing side, she is admitted to practice in Texas and to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. That combination allows her to handle matters in state and federal forums. Her academic ties to South Texas College of Law continue alongside those courtroom admissions.

Her résumé mixes courtroom credentials, firm work and civic leadership. She maintains an active role at Minor & Jester, P.C., and continues to participate in local and statewide professional organizations. She currently practices at Minor & Jester, P.C., handling matters in Texas state and federal courts.
