About Jessica
Jessica Ferrante built a foundation in Tennessee before turning to the law. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and earned her law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Those years shaped her understanding of the region she now serves.
After law school she entered private practice and has practiced across state lines. She is admitted to the bars of Mississippi and Tennessee, allowing her to represent clients in both jurisdictions. That geographic reach informs how she approaches cases, and it also gives her a sense of the procedural and cultural differences between the two states.
Ferrante joined Rice Caperton Rice in 2009. She has been associated with that firm since then, developing practical skills and courtroom experience through day-to-day work. Her tenure there spans litigation, client counseling and the often-unseen tasks of preparing matters for trial. Colleagues describe her as steady in the courtroom and precise in written work.
She maintains active professional memberships and participates in the legal community. Those ties keep her connected to colleagues and current on changes in practice and procedure. She has taken part in firm matters and local bar activities, balancing those commitments alongside client responsibilities.
Her career has combined courtroom appearances with behind-the-scenes preparation. She spends time drafting pleadings, negotiating resolutions, and planning trial strategy when cases move in that direction. She also handles client communications and the practical work that moves cases forward, from discovery to motion practice. That mix reflects the everyday reality of a lawyer who must manage both advocacy and the details that support it.
Outside formal court settings, Ferrante draws on her Tennessee upbringing and Memphis law training when advising clients whose matters cross state lines. She knows how filing deadlines, evidentiary rules and local practice customs can differ and how those differences can shape case strategy. She brings that regional perspective to each matter she takes on.
She remains at Rice Caperton Rice and practices actively in Mississippi and Tennessee. Her current work involves representing clients in matters across those two states, handling litigation and related legal work in state and federal forums.
