About Jermario L
Jermario L Davis earned his J.D. from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2004. That education provided the foundation for a career spent largely inside courtrooms. He practices in Georgia and has worked on both sides of the criminal justice system.
Early in his career he joined the Cobb County Solicitor General’s Office as an assistant solicitor in 2008. That role placed him in front of magistrate and misdemeanor dockets and gave him routine exposure to pretrial practice and plea negotiations. Four years later he moved to the Georgia Public Defender Council’s Coweta office as a felony public defender. In that capacity he handled serious criminal matters, managed caseloads, and represented clients at hearings and trials.
In 2017 he formed Davis Legal LLC and began practicing under his own firm name. The shift to private practice did not take him far from the courtroom. As owner and trial lawyer he continued to take cases to trial and to appear for contested hearings. His background on both the prosecution and defense sides informs how he prepares cases and evaluates risks for clients.
Davis’s work centers on criminal law and trial advocacy. He has experience handling felony matters and the procedural issues that arise in state court. He is familiar with motion practice, plea bargaining, jury selection, and the logistics of running a defense through trial. He has represented clients in a range of criminal proceedings and has developed practical habits for courtroom preparation, including witness preparation and evidence review.
Colleagues and former clients describe him as methodical in the courtroom and pragmatic at the negotiating table. He draws on past roles in public service when assessing the strengths and weaknesses of a case. That perspective can shape strategy, whether the aim is to resolve matters before trial or to press for a favorable verdict when an accused person chooses to go to trial.
