About Jeremy W.

Jeremy W. Richter built his academic foundation in the humanities before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and History from Tennessee Temple University in 2004, followed by a Master of Arts in History from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2007. He completed his legal education at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, receiving his J.D. in 2012.

After law school, Richter began his legal career as an associate in 2012 at Webster, Henry, Lyons, Bradwell, Cohan & Speagle, P.C. That early role placed him in a firm environment that serves a variety of civil defense and insurance-related clients. He moved into roles that required handling insurance claims, coordinating with claimants and carriers, and working on matters involving commercial vehicles.

Richter is licensed to practice in Alabama and maintains active membership in the Alabama State Bar. He also belongs to several professional organizations that reflect the contours of his work: the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Alabama Self Insured Association, the Alabama Trucking Association, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. These memberships keep him connected to developments in insurance defense, subrogation recovery, and transportation liability issues.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in building a case file and attentive to the procedural details that matter in civil litigation. He has worked on matters that require coordination among insurers, self-insured entities, and private carriers. The combination of his graduate study in history and his legal training contributes to an analytical approach to documents and timelines.

In court and at the negotiating table, Richter applies a practical style. He prepares trial materials when a matter cannot settle, and he also works to resolve claims through structured settlement discussions when the facts allow. His practice touches on discovery management, liability analysis, and the technical aspects of transporting goods and commercial vehicle operations.

He maintains a practice in Alabama that reflects his professional affiliations and early firm experience. He now practices in Alabama, concentrating on insurance defense, trucking litigation, subrogation, and claims and loss recovery matters.
