About Jennifer
Jennifer McKinnish trained in Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1998. She went on to receive her J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2002.
She practices in Tennessee. Her professional path includes membership in several bar and defense organizations that reflect the kind of work she takes on. She joined the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2006 and has belonged to the Sevier County Bar Association since 2007. She became a member of the Tennessee Bar Association in 2008 and maintains those memberships.
McKinnish founded McKinnish Law Group and serves as its lawyer and managing attorney. She established the firm to handle client matters locally. The firm’s public-facing role centers on courtroom work and client advocacy in Tennessee courts.
Her credentialing includes certification as a Rule 31 mediator through the Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts. That certification qualifies her to conduct court-referred mediations and other alternative dispute resolution procedures under Tennessee’s rules.
Her association memberships and mediator certification reflect a practice that bridges courtroom representation and dispute resolution. Clients encounter her in criminal defense settings, and she also appears in mediations where parties seek negotiated outcomes. She balances client representation in adversarial proceedings with the procedural work of mediation.
Colleagues describe her as a working trial lawyer who also takes on mediation cases, and the organizational memberships she maintains underscore that mix. She remains active in local and state bar circles and in national defense networks.
She continues to lead McKinnish Law Group and divides her time between representing clients in criminal matters and serving as a certified Rule 31 mediator in Tennessee.
